Selling fast on Le Cointar: what makes the difference
Updated August 2026
Photos, title, price, description, responsiveness: the habits of listings that sell within a few days.
The photo does 80% of the work
- Take your photos in daylight, on a plain, clean background.
- Show the item from several angles, close up for details and any flaws: buyers distrust a listing with no photo of the scratches.
- Put the best photo first: it is the one shown in lists and in WhatsApp previews.
- Up to ten photos are allowed: use them.
A title, a price, an honest description
- The title says what it is: brand, model, capacity or size, condition. "iPhone 15 Pro 256 GB, very good condition" gets found; "Phone for sale" does not.
- Check the real prices page for the category: a price within the range sells fast, too high gets no replies, too low scares people off.
- Describe the condition without lying: included accessories, flaws, reason for selling. A disclosed flaw does not put people off; one discovered on the spot kills the sale.
- Say whether you accept Mobile Money: it reassures buyers who do not want to travel with cash.
After publishing
- Reply fast: a seller who answers within an hour earns the "Very responsive" badge, and a buyer who gets no reply moves on to the next listing.
- Renew your listing as it nears its expiry (60 days), and lower the price if it draws nothing after a few weeks: people who favourited it are notified of the drop.
- When it is sold, close the listing and say who bought it: the buyer can confirm and leave you a review, which builds your reputation even for a cash sale.
